This blog is to most of the people who replied on Joshes blog about the new white stripes album. You all sound like music snobs. I believe that Icky Thump is a superb album. I think you are either overreacting about the tunes or the drumming, or you don't to be caught liking the track that uses bag pipes. I thought I already explained this. Meg whites drumming isn't obviously the best in the world but it gets the job done and is simple and heavy. AC/DC has simple drums and same for Metalica sometimes. I think people are afraid to say they actually liked the song with bag pipes. I admit that even though I despise the genres of punk and mainstream rap I still do enjoy the occasional one, because it was fairly good. You are all just caught up in the music you are all about and don't want other music genres being good.

This whole post seems like the whining, not the comments. Gunn, You said that the white stripes are heavy. This is just false. They are kinda like classicrockpopblues. Its kinda mediocre at best. Its fine for you to like it. But dont think that just because people dont like it, then they are music snobs. You defend the drumming because it gets the job done. Thats lame. Good music doesnt just get the job done. Mediocre music does. Drumming has to be at least good. her drumming sucks, it isnt good at all. Lars from metallica is good. He isnt great, there are a lot better drummers out there, but he is good and has some interesting fills. she has nothing interesting, she hasnt got any better from album to album. Its almost like she is content to suck, and doenst want to get better. You made an arguement about not liking punk and mainstream rap, but that you like the occasional one, because you can appreciate what is good even in a lame genre. Well people do appreciate the occasional white stripe SONG, but the albums as a whole suck. just like a rap album for you. you may like one song, but not the whole album. And its not that people are caught up in their own music and dont want other genres to be good, its that they AREN'T good. its not like,"Oh,look out, country as a genre is getting better, this sucks, i dont want that genre to be good, quick someone stop it!" Some genres just suck with an occasional ok song, accept it. white stripes unfortunately are in the good genre and just have the occasional good song. too bad.
Jason, the joke was that I was whinning. Come on dude I thought you were quicker than that.
I guess im not accustomed to whining or admiting any sort of weakness. It looked to me as if you were making a statement that was "supposed" to be factual and anyone who disagreed was to "whine" below in the comments section. Which is what i would have done. But at the same time I wouldnt let you get away with doing. Because you are poop and I am awesome.
Oh I know well that I am poop, but I am highest quality of poop. If thats possible.
